Bear Lake

We spent five days at Bear Lake last week. The kids had a ball. It was a fun trip but after that long when you get back you need a vacation to recover from your vacation.

The kids rented a jet ski and Taylor and J.R. rode for hours on it.

J.R.'s eyes were killing him at the end. He will tell you it was allergies, but I told him that it was a result of driving so fast your eyes can't blink enough to prevent them from drying out. Either way he definately paid the price.

They swam in the 45 degree lake, played on floaties, and splashed each other the entire afternoon. Dodee even saw a fish swim past, she ran for shore as fast as she could go!

I spent 2 weeks debating whether I should buy the baby fencing but, it was a great investment. Maizee played and we didn't have to dig sand out of a single diaper!

After a long day at the beach, Jared proceeded to drive his car half way into the lake, and get it stuck in the mud. Because he's a man, it was all my fault. Well, we did finally find a nice old fella with a truck and a tow rope to pull him out. I have teased Jared that every vehicle he has ever owned and every body of water we have ever been to he has gotten stuck. This isn't a real picture of his car, but it could have been. I believe it also had a male driver, and I'm pretty sure it was probably his wife's fault too.
The next day we spent the afternoon at the pool at Bear Lake West. J.R.'s hair is so long that he can't hear when its wet and covers his ears so he has to pull it away in a flying nun fashion.

And poor Maizee almost starved to death. As you can see, she didn't even get any chocolate cookies! I have never figured out how a baby can get 1/8 of an oreo to cover their entire face, hands, and anything else around them, but she is a pro at it.

Aztec Baseball Trip 2009

J.R., the lucky dog, just got back from a trip back east with the Aztecs. He has gone with the team, my dad, and my brother for several years now. It's something he looks forward to every summer.
They left last Monday and flew to Baltimore. They went to Baltimore, NY, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Philadelphia. They got to go to Gettysburg, the sites in DC, the liberty bell, and 5 major league ball parks. He got a home run baseball. He loved every minute of it, especially the $5 hot dogs, his claim to fame is eating 16 of them while on the trip. Here are some pics:

Fun Filled Day

Wow, what a full day. We were running from one fun activity to another all day long, but that makes for fun memories.
We started the day bright and early with the 4th of July parade in Lewiston at 9:00. Traeson was obviously not ready to get started this early after the late night at the fireworks.
Maizee loved the parade. Typical of her style, she was amazed by the sirens and anything fast and loud.
Then we hit the Lewiston town carnival for some rides for the kids. The balloon ride took you up and then dropped you down really fast. Traeson and Dodee thought it was great. Maizee loved watching them, but soon was zonked out.

Taylor had a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. She played with a couple of her friends in the boys category. She was actually the only girl in the entire tournament, and held her own against the big bad boys. They did a great job and won the championship game. They got T-shirts and new basketballs.
After a brief rest we were on to the car show and cruise in.
Traeson and Dodee couldn't get enough. We gave them a camera and told them to take a picture of their favorite car. 219 pictures later we left. Here are their top 3:
